SILVERING SOLUTIONS
HE-300
The High Efficiency (HE) -300 is used extensively by the hand-silvering and recording industries. It is a three part sludgeless system where two of the solutions are mixed together before use. Besides the increased efficiency in depositing more silver with less waste, the adhesion of silver to glass is improved when using this product. The formulation is flexible so that variations in reaction times can be attained by heating or varying the concentration of solutions. Solutions can be applied with conveyor systems, hand sprayed or poured. See direction sheets for mixing instructions. When ordering silvering chemicals, be aware of their shelf life. Storage in a cool dark place prolongs shelf life. Refrigeration is recommended but not necessary. Store containers tightly capped.
Shelf Life: Silver Solution "A": 1-2 yr.; Activator Solution "B": 6-9 months; Reducer Solution "C": 1-2 yr..
HE-300 UNITS (SILVER, ACTIVATOR, and REDUCER)
When purchasing Silver, Activator, and Reducer together, ask for the "HE-300 Unit". Solutions are sold in pint, gallon and 5-gallon containers, and are color coded to easily distinguish between solutions.
Metric users note: 1 pint is approx. 500 ml, 1 gallon is approx. 4 Liters.

SENSITIZING SOLUTIONS
NO. 93 SENSITIZING SOLUTION
Formulated specifically for hard to "wet surfaces" such as waxes, plastics, rubber, and silk screen inks, this liquid concentrate is also excellent on old and new glass. Also used on silvering conveyors with long "laytime" between the tin rinse and the silvering section. No. 93 is a concentrate; use 2-4 ounces per gallon of deionized water. The amount of wetting required will determine the exact mix.
No. 93 has a shelf life of 6 months. Keep the bottle tightly capped and in a cool dark place. A diluted solution has a pot life of 24 hours and must be made fresh daily.

H-41 SENSITIZING
SOLUTION
This concentrated sensitizer is an excellent choice for its wetting and sensitizing properties. Two benefits of its formulation are: a long shelf life (over one year), and less concentrate is needed. Dilute 2-4 ounces of H-41 concentrate in one gallon of deionized water.

GALVANIC COPPER COATINGS
GALVANIC COPPER
CONCENTRATES
Copper is used as a protective coating for silver in the manufacture of mirrors because it acts as a sacrificial metal reacting to many of the elements that react to, and would spoil silver. If contaminants get past the backing paint, they will react with the copper, and hopefully, will not be strong enough to get to the silver coating. Also, the copper coat is more resilient to the shrinkage that occurs when the backing paint dries.
Galvanic Copper is applied with Peacock's Galvanic Copper Spray Gun or by conveyor. A copper coat is applied on top of silver for protection. Top with one of our mirror backing paints. 1 unit will make 60 gallons of ready to spray solution. 1 unit consists of 5 gallons of concentrated copper solutions, 5 lbs. of Iron powder and a 3 ounce bottle of additive.

Using Peacock Lab products, a copper coating can be applied to almost any subsurface. Here it is applied to urethane foam. The process starts by spraying on a Peacock Labs silver base which creates a superior bond with the copper coating. Once the copper is set, it can be easily machined or etched.

MIRROR BACKING PAINTS
COPPER-TITE
VEHICLE #3, CLEAR
Copper-Tite Vehicle #3 (CTV#3) is a crystal clear, durable air-dry lacquer that provides superior tarnish protection and remarkable resistance to salt-air atmosphere as well as superior resistance to ultra-violet light. Formulated without harmful organic compounds, it has special ingredients that chemically bond to the copper or the silver layer of a mirror. It can be used in different ways as a mirror backing paint. Used alone as a clear finish, a one way mirror is created. On antique mirrors where the copper layer must not show through, it can be used as a "copper free" prime coat followed by a top coat of, for example, the #175 dark gray mirror backing.
When CTV#3 is mixed with the Peacock Copper Powder, it forms the basis of Peacock's non-electrolytic copper backing process. In this process, a specially prepared copper powder is dispersed in the CTV#3 and then sprayed onto silver forming a copper-polymer prime coat. Top with #175 Mirro-Bond. Thin with Peacock's #281 Thinner.

SYNCRYLAC
A durable air-dry lacquer, Syncrylac is formulated for application on ferrous and non-ferrous metal surfaces of steel, aluminum, copper and bronze. It should give satisfactory exterior protection for at least ten years under normal conditions. Considerably longer life is expected. For brush application, it is ready to use. For spray application thin with #7 reducer. Syncrylac air dries to the touch in less than 5 minutes; may be force dried faster at 250 F. Air dries hard in an hour or so, depending on the film thickness, temperature etc.

ACID RESIST
MIRRO-BOND
Acid resist protective coating, in standard black color, may be applied directly over silver or galvanic copper. When silk screened over silver, it will resist silver strip or acid for wash out techniques used in decorative silvering. Acid resist can be used for creating a two tone metal finish by selectively anodizing or buffing aluminum or brass parts and then stripping off the resist with trichloroethylene or lacquer thinner. Reduce with #178 and/or #590 Thinner. Air dries in 24 hours or force dry in 20 minutes at 225 F. Approximate coverage is 800 Square feet per gallon.

EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES

SILVER SPRAY GUNS
Peacock Laboratories offers two styles of silver spray guns. Both our silver spray guns have the following features: Dual nozzles for the spraying of the silver solutions and their reducers. Spray nozzles are adjustable so flow can be controlled through each nozzle. Stainless steel is used in the construction of the spray nozzles and in areas where the fluids come in contact. They spray with the use of compressed air (7 cfm @ 40 psi minimum). Fluids to be sprayed can be gravity fed with the use of aspirator bottles (with a pressure head of at least six feet) connected to the fluid inlet by 1/4" tubing and fluid coupling, or siphon fed by using the optional pint or quart containers that fit right to the fluid inlets. Two siphon bottles or two aspirator bottles are needed when using this spray gun. As with all our spray guns, we stock a full supply of spare parts.
PEACOCK SILVER SPRAY GUN
Our premium gun is our exclusive design having a balanced look and feel. The balanced design makes it easier to handle for long term use. Other advantages include: The two spray nozzles spray simultaneously even when the trigger is pulled partially. The balanced design is more comfortable for both right hand and left hand use. The angle between the spray streams is fixed. Fluid inlet requires two fluid couplings for 1/4" tubing, or two siphon bottles, see below.

information click on Buy
Now!.
STANDARD SILVERING GUN Our less expensive silver spray gun has been the favorite of the industry for many years. The differences between this gun and the premium gun include: The right hand spray nozzle can be adjusted to different angles from the left nozzle. When the trigger is pulled halfway the right nozzle fires before the left nozzle because the left side fluid needle is pulled back manually whereas the right side nozzle is pushed back by air pressure. Two fuid couplings at fluid inlet, for 1/4" tubing, or two siphon bottles are needed, see below.
